Richard G. Young, Ph.D. LMFT, Founder and Clinical Director

Pathways Family Court Services

Dr. Richard Young has been in private practice as a family therapist for 40 years and a private child custody evaluator for 16 years. In that time, he has treated thousands of individual clients and families and conducted more than 600 custody evaluations and reviews of other evaluators' work. The training program he designed and administers meets all standards for the 40 hours of initial education required for new child custody evaluators (FC 5.225) and is approved by the California Judicial Council. Dr. Young has trained more than a dozen child custody evaluators over the years and provided them with close supervision of their first four cases as required by law. Dr. Young conducts a monthly supervision group for evaluators and consults regularly with recognized experts in the field. He is also the author of a training manual for evaluators. Dr. Young is fair and objective and highly skilled as a therapist, evaluator and trainer/supervisor. He will give your child custody case the care and consideration it deserves and will work to ensure that your children are not traumatized by the evaluation process.
